Where would you like to begin?
Each part of the Learning Lab does one thing well, and every one of them leads back here. Two are still being built, and say so plainly.
Two ways to read
On your own, or under direction.
The reading courses are self-directed: a text, seven practices, and your own pace. Directed learning is the other way — reading under a teacher, in a room of readers, toward a seminar — and it is the way the Institute’s whole vision points.
What stands today: seminar leaders gather readers into cohorts, a question you prepare can reach your leader, and seminar plans are built from what the room is actually asking. Scheduled seminars and live sessions are the Institute’s programs — the seminars page says plainly what is built and what is not yet.

The Seven Pillars of Wisdom
‘Wisdom hath built herself a house, she hath hewn her out seven pillars’ (Proverbs 9:1). The certificate takes its name and its shape from the verse: seven arts, forty-two lectures, from the power of words to the motions of the heavens.
